The rare inclusion of a lone figure in this landscape photograph from Hessle Foreshore suggests a reflective mood, perhaps one even tinged with a hint of melancholy. This is further enhanced by the monochrome treatment – a decision I took during the processing of the image despite that fact the the sunset had painted the sky glorious colour.
Once again I have chosen a low viewpoint which opens up the foreground. The Humber mud is picking up the light of the sky drawing out texture detail between the rocks and stones. The towers of the Humber Bridge are silhouetted against the western sky framing the central figure.
