The light yesterday morning was lovely – its golden hue warming up the landscape despite the chill from the hard frost. I knew the conditions on the river would make a good photograph as I walked to walk so I took a detour and spent half an hour wandering down by Brough Haven.
The tide was on its way and as I walked back towards the footpath this composition caught my eye. The gate and fence are relatively new – presumably installed to prevent livestock straying into the treacherous reed beds and mudflats nearby. The leading lines of the gate and warm light picking out the vertical fence posts draw the eye into the landscape.
