Photograph of the Deep, Hull from Corporation Pier

After meeting a couple of old schoolfriends for breakfast at Thieving Harry’s on Humber Street I wandered back to where I had parked near the old Corporation Pier. It was definitely the best part of the day in terms of the weather – no sign of the rain to come later.

Standing out on the pier I could see this expansive view of the tidal barrier and the Deep. Further along past Victoria Dock village the towering wind turbine columns and crane jibs stand on the quayside by the new Siemens factory. Just visible beyond that is the North Sea Ferries terminal.

There’s nothing like a short walk along the river front on a sunny morning to set you up for the day. Oh – the breakfast was excellent too!
