Description
This long exposure photograph of Humber Bridge reveals the constellations in the southern sky with amazing clarity. Orion The Hunter is clearly visible in the centre of the image and in the original several others can be seen including Canis Major The Great Dog (the larger of Orion’s two hunting dogs), Lepus The Hare (Orion’s prey), Eridanus The River and Taurus The Bull. The stars were hidden from the naked eye at the time.
This image was shortlisted for the Landscape Photographer of the Year prize, appearing in the accompanying book and exhibition at the National Theatre.
